.

Dr. Lee received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999 from Oklahoma State University. She has practiced medicine in and around the DFW area for more than 15 years. Dr. Lee has extensive experience in small animal medicine and surgery, and  has particular interest in internal medicine, reproduction, and dentistry. She also has specialized training in ultrasound and stem cell treatments.

Dr. Lee grew up in rural Southeastern Oklahoma, only two hours northeast of Krum. She was reared on a farm and at an early age knew that veterinary medicine was her calling. "According to my mom, I stated at 4 or 5 years of age that I was going to be a veterinarian and I never changed my mind,” says Dr. Lee. “I always had a passion for animals and learning everything about them.”

While growing up, she had horses and still enjoys riding in her free time. She also enjoys being outdoors, listening to live music, making jewelry and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Lee and her husband Shane and son Kase have made Krum their home. They specifically searched for a small, caring community in which to rear their son.

Marilyn Mitchell, DVM, CVCP

Part Time Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Mitchell graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 from Texas A&M University.  She has worked in private practice and emergency care in the Denton-Dallas area caring for small animals.  She also has experience with birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits and helps with rehabilitation of wildlife.  She has been filling in at Krum Veterinary Hospital for Dr. Lee since 2012 and has now joined the practice as an associate veterinarian.

Dr. Mitchell is second author of “Evaluation of Three Heat Sources for Their Ability to Maintain Core Body Temperature in the Anesthetized Avian Patient”, Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery and co-author of “Myofascititis in a Ferret”, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association

In January 2009, she became a certified veterinary chiropractitioner (CVCP) using a technique called Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM).  Using VOM along with cold laser therapy and aqua therapy, she is treating and managing acute and chronic medical conditions involving the musculoskeletal and nervous system, digestive conditions, performance/behavioral problems and many other diseases that require rehabilitation to help get the body to heal.

Dr. Mitchell is currently working to become a certified veterinary food therapist (CVFT).  She lives in her hometown, Denton, with her husband and their “one eyed pirate cat” and crazy cockatoo.  In her spare time, she helps her grandmother and enjoys gardening, scuba diving, and working on becoming a beekeeper.  Dr. Mitchell’s goal is to provide animals with good quality of life through conventional and alternative therapies, nutrition and preventative care.
